The latest installment in the Halo franchise has been delayed to next year, the studio head announced today. Halo Infinite, which was initially set for release later this year, has been pushed back to 2021 due to “multiple factors,” according to studio head Chris Lee. One reason for the delay was the ongoing COVID-19 related issues that have affected the studio throughout development.
The developers at 343 Industries said it’s not “sustainable for the well-being of our team or the overall success of the game to ship it this holiday.” Please, click on the link for the full story.
US consumers continue to spend on video games at record rates
According to The NPD Group’s Q2 2020 Games Market Dynamics report, consumer spending on video games in the US was up 30 percent year-over-year in the second quarter (April – June), reaching a record $11.6 billion, and up seven percent sequentially versus the $10.9 billion spent in the first three months of the year.
Breaking it down, we see that sales in the hardware category jumped 57 percent compared to the same period in 2019, to $848 million. Accessory and peripheral sales brought in another $584 million, a 50 percent jump year-over-year. The bulk of the haul came from sales of video game content, which accounted for $10.2 billion. FIFA 21 set to include first-ever female voice in the history of series
FIFA 21 is set to introduce the first-ever female voice in the game series, as Nira Juanco’s voice will be featured in the new edition of the FIFA series.
Juanco works as a presenter and reporter for Gol Television on LaLiga and Champions League, will make history in the Spanish edition on the popular football video game. Earlier, the 41-year-old presenter used to work on Formula 1 coverage, and in recent years only made a switch to Football, and soon gained prominence in Spain due to her Champions League coverage. Codemasters’ Dirt 5 Has Been Delayed, But Only By A Week
The bad news is that the game’s Xbox One launch has been delayed. The good news is that you’ll only have to wait another week for it!

Competitive gaming at large has filled mainstream media roles, occupying centre stage during the pandemic’s screenplay. The bi-partisan bill, A637, has been unofficially referred to as the ‘esports betting bill’ since it was initially sponsored by a trio of assemblymen in New Jersey.
