Ghanaian football giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will on Sunday renew their rivalry outside the football pitch as goalkeepers Danlad Ibrahim and Richard Attah represent the two clubs in a FIFA 20 face-off.
The two clubs have for several years strived to be the best club in Ghanaian football history, a goal that has led to intense rivalry among the two clubs both on and off the field.
While there will be no opportunity for bragging rights to be gained on the football pitch, it could be done behind a console when both teams are represented by their goalkeepers in a FIFA 20 friendly contest.
Danlad Ibrahim, who will be representing his parent club Kumasi Asante Kotoko, had impressed immensely while playing on loan for Berekum Chelsea before the Ghana Premier League was truncated while Richard Attah who will be Accra Hearts of Oak’s representative had also emerged as the safest pair of hands for the continental club masters.
The friendly encounter is being organized by Joy Sports and will be streamed live on the Facebook and Twitter handles of Joy Sports on Saturday, 1st August 2020 at 14:00 GMT.
The initiative by JoySports to host Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak bears a similarity with the ePL invitational tournament which was organized by the Premier League when the English Premier League was suspended a few months ago.
The ePL was organized on two different occasions by the Premier League and saw Wolves’ Diogo Jota winning the inaugural competition while Leicester’ s James Maddison was crowned the winner of the second edition. .
